The core mechanics of Metro 2033 is simple: light makes it easier to see, but it also makes you easier to spot, the sounds you make can be heard by other humans and monsters alike, gas masks are required on the surface, and bullets are money. Yes, this is a game that is highly Eastern European in references, sayings, and for better or worse, quality, but before diving into it, I want to say that I enjoyed Metro 2033, and enjoyed the Redux edition almost as equally, even if it feels like other mainstream FPS games on easier difficulties.
